Question & Answer – What Is My Liability?
October 1, 2010
Question: What is my liability if my daughter’s boyfriend has a car accident while driving my car and he is uninsured? There has not been an accident. I just want to know the answer just in case it happened.
Answer: As the owner of the vehicle, if the car gets into an accident, you will certainly be named as a defendant in any lawsuit and as a permissive user of your car, your insurance will have cover any claim and or lawsuit. Any judgement entered will have to be satisfied by you or your insurance and any excess will have to be satisfied by you personally.
In another words, you may be 100% liable for any damages caused by your daughter’s boyfriend while operating your vehicle with your permission.

I just subscribed to your RSS feed, not sure if I did it precisely though? Nice article by the way.
Exceptional, I passed this on to a comrade of mine, and he actually bought me lunch because I found this for him, so let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch.
Once I thought about things like: why such information is for free here? Because when you write a book then at least on selling a book you get a percentage. Thank you and good luck on informing people more about it!
